IS 1239 Steel Pipes are made up of a mild steel material. The material has different grades. The three grades are Fe330, Fe410 and Fe450. The numbers indicate the minimum tensile strengths of the grades. They respectively have 330MPa, 410MPa and 450MPa minimum tensile strengths. The IS 1239 Steel Pipe is made up of carbon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur. The sulfur and phosphorus content remain the same in all grades where the other elements change in quantities with the grades of the pipes.
There are IS 1239 square pipe, round pipe, hydraulic pipe, rectangular and other types available in this grade of steel. The minimum tensile strengths for these three grades are respectively 195MPa, 235MPa and 275MPa. The IS 1239 GI pipe is a galvanized iron pipe where there are other types of coatings such as the anti-corrosive oiled, black and 3LPE coated pipes are also available. The IS 1239 MS pipe comes in different sizes ranging from ½ inches to 36 inches and the wall thickness of the pipes varies up to 40mm. The material can be heat treated by a variety of methods such as normalizing, quenching, martempering and quenched and tempered. The Carbon Steel IS 1239 Yst 355 Pipe is used in the sewage, water well, firefighting and in structural applications as well. The material can be produced as Electric Resistance Weld, Electric Fusion Weld or seamless. The IS 1239 Yst 310 Erw Pipe comes in larger wall thicknesses and diameters than the seamless pipes.
